Cloudflare joins the Asteroid - McAllen IXP in Texas, USA

"Removing 500 miles from the latency equation is a good thing. 500 miles equates to around 12 milliseconds of round-trip latency."

Cloudflare is joining the Asteroid-built IXP, managed by our partners McAllen DC, in McAllen, Texas, USA. Martin Levy has written a great blog post about it. He explains why McAllen is the perfect location for an IXP, allowing Cloudflare and others to peer with Mexican networks.
